Brisbane five-piece, The Bloodpoets, have been selected as one of six bands to support THE PANICS for the third round of the JD Set tour which kicks off in September, with voting commencing for the final two bands on Monday, August 16. The Bloodpoets involvement in the JD Set follows on from the legacy of 2008’s successful inaugural series which included bands such as Angelas Dish, Braindead Lovers, Borne, Calling All Cars, Casual Projects, Calerway, Galleon, and the Lazys and more recently in 2009 with Glass Ceiling, Starting Sunday, Brittle and The Shiny Brights. The two bands with the most votes will hit the road in September with THE PANICS! Voting kicks off Monday 16th August at www.thejdset.com.au and runs until Sunday 30th August with the tour taking place at the end of September. This news comes after a hectic couple of months for The Bloodpoets, who release their debut album in October. The band have already secured high profile supports with Bluejuice, Butterfingers, The Angels, Brish India, End of Fashion, The Boat People and more recently for the Whitlams. The Bloodpoets now release “Borderline” as the band’s debut single from their new album “Polarity”. The release has been serviced to media and radio with Triple J’s Richard Kingsmill describing the track as “catchy and a brain sticker for sure.” To seal this success off, the band were then picked up by Channel V and “Borderline” was the most requested song on Channel V online for 2 weeks running and is currently placed second on their online request site, and rated the number one band in the country on Austereo’s digital network, Radar Radio.
